Copper Cup - Walking Soccer Rules
- 6-a-side (5 + keeper) each team can have up to 12 players on the roster. Co-Ed with a minimum of 3 female players on the pitch at all times.
- No running, jogging - on or off the ball by any player; the referee will remind any players if they are running off the ball but haven't gained an advantage before calling a foul.
- 20 minutes halves with 2 to 3-minute halftime? All games will start on time
- Size 4 futsal ball provided by the tournament.
- No slide tacking. No heel, ankle rapping from behind or side. No sliding except for goalkeeper inside penalty area in attempt to make a save.
- Sub-on-the-fly (substitution at any time, except for the keeper, in which case the referee must be made aware of the change). Must enter at the half-line after substituted player has exited from the half-line. No waiting.
- No offsides will be called.
- Shin Guards must be worn and covered by socks by all players.
- Throw-ins only by underhand throw. Defense must be 10ft away.
- Corner-kicks are direct. No delay of game by defense on throw-ins or corners.
- No goal can be scored directly from kick-offs, throw-ins, drop balls except for corner kicks. Kick-offs and goalkeeper throw-ins are indirect.
- No goal kicks. Goalkeeper returns ball into play by under-arm throw only. Goalkeeper has 5 seconds to return ball to play.
- 10 feet distance must be maintained from opponent players from any restart.
- Ball height restriction is set at 6’ 6” or the height of the goal, above which an indirect free kick will be awarded to the opposing team. If a height infringement occurs within the penalty area and is committed by the defending team, an indirect free kick will be awarded 3 yards from the penalty area line nearest to where the offense took place.
- Fouls inside the penalty area are the discretion of referee. Direct kicks will result in a PK, with all players outside except goalkeeper.
- Fouls on the field, outside the penalty areas will be indirect. Defense must be 10ft away.
- Goalkeepers are free to move anywhere on the pitch but can only handle the ball inside their own penalty area.
- Goalkeeper may dribble ball in the penalty area; ball may be handled (with hands) if last touched by opponent or was not the result of an intentional pass from a teammate.
- Goalkeeper may only distribute the ball out of the area with an underarm roll or pass along the pitch; no over arm throw or punt; Goalkeeper may also play the ball to his or own her own feet and dribble out of the area.
- Goalkeepers can receive back passes but must not pick the ball up. (Indirect free kick 10ft from foul)
- Goalkeeper must wear a shirt that distinguishes from others and the referee.
- Yellow and red cards can be given out. A player who is sent off takes no further part in match.
- Hard fouls or two yellow cards equal a red card and immediate expulsion from court area with no team substitution.
- A red card equals immediate ban from next match and loss of points.
- Walking is defined as always having at least one foot in contact with the ground. This includes no running onto or off the ball. The referee will award an indirect free kick against any player who is seen to be not walking. For the 1st penalty a warning will be given, for the 2nd infringement a yellow card, and for the 3rd infringement a red card (and send off).
